Le Grand Hotel des Bains lies at the border of the Finistere and Cotes d’Armor regions of Brittany, where the Cote Sauvage meets the Cote Granite Rose. The hotel can be accessed in a number of ways:

Plane: Local airports include: Morlaix (20 mins), Lannion (25 mins), Brest (45 mins) and Dinard (90 mins) all of which are served by a variety of carriers from a range of British and French airports.

Ferry: Brittany Ferries run daily from Plymouth to Roscoff (30 mins) or Portsmouth to St Malo (2 hours).

Train: The TGV runs to Morlaix (20 mins), 4 hours from Paris, and 3 hours in 2007.

Carbon offsetting

All travel, and air travel in particular, contributes to the increase of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the environment, a key factor in global warming and the future disastrous impacts of climate change. Carbon offsetting enables individuals to compensate for the CO2 emissions they are responsible for by offsetting or displacing the CO2 in another place. Many carbon offset projects incorporate tree planting, however, in 2006 environmental organisations such as Greenpeace, WWF and Friends of the Earth withdrew their support for reforestry as the carbon is in fact released back into the atmosphere when the tree dies or is cut down. Instead, preferred projects are those that increase energy efficiency or invest in renewable energy.

The Grand Hôtel des Bains recognises that carbon offsetting is not a perfect solution, however we feel it does offer individuals an opportunity to take personal responsibility for their carbon output.
