HÔTEL SPA GRAND HÔTEL DES BAINS

History of the Hotel

Situated between the Pink Granite Coast and the Wild Coast, the Grand Hôtel des Bains has welcomed guests with its charm and style for many years. Perched on the peninsula of Locquirec, a little well-preserved port, sheltered from the prevailing winds, the current building was constructed on the site of an ancient monastery.

Built at the end of the 19th century, the building was briefly a private home. From the beginning of the 20th century,

L’Hôtel des Bains became a well-regarded family boarding house, welcoming numerous families as guests each summer.

The comforts of modern life only arrived in 1996, when the hotel was bought by a Belgian who fell in love with the many charms of this part of Brittany. He transformed it into a 4 star hotel, adding a marine spa. The 78 rooms became a more spacious 36, all decorated in a classic New England style.

The Beach Hotel: The Movie

In 1978 Michel Lang's film "L'Hôtel de la Plage" was released. A mythical popular comedy, the sequel to "A Nous les Petites Anglaises", it features holidaymakers, regulars and new clients of the boarding house, who meet or get to know each other during their summer stay in Brittany.

The men plan infidelities, their wives too. Teenage love and children's games. Lucien hits on Aline and Euloge, the waitress Yveline. Husbands, wives and children have fun. The boss has an unexpected suitor... Innocence and virginities are lost...

Even today, many guests come to the Grand Hôtel des Bains to discover the magnificent site of the filming.

We are happy to lend the film to anyone who asks!
